More and more states are updating laws to restrict access to credit reports for pre-employment screening.
Effective 10/01/2011 two more states have passed legislation to restrict access for employers to credit information. Connecticut and Maryland join Washington, Oregon, Illinois, and Hawaii in this initiative. There are some general rules of exception that are common:
- Financially related positions
- Government related positions
- Managerial positions
